Surgery Info

 

Prior to your procedure you will be contacted by a nurse for pre-operative questions from the hospital and or surgery center. This call will entail questions regarding your health history, surgery and arrival times, explanation of pre-operative guidelines, and answer any questions you may have. The call will be to prevent any delays or cancellations with your procedure. It is important that you follow guidelines provided to you.

 

You can expect a representative from NASA to reach out to you with your surgical benefits and patient responsiblities five days prior to your surgical procedure. This will be for the surgeons charge ONLY. 

Food and Drink

The night prior to your surgery, no eating or drinking after midnight including the morning of your surgery unless otherwise directed.

Jewelry (including body jewelry)

Do not wear any jewelry including watches or body piercings on the day of surgery.

Clothing

Wear casual, comfortable clothing that will fit over dressings as needed.

Valuables

Leave valuables at home.

Notify the Facility & Your Surgeon If:

  • You have an elevated temperature, cough, cold, or vomiting between your last visit to the surgeon and the day of your surgery.
  • You suspect you may be pregnant.

What You Need the Day of Surgery:

  • Information to Bring: Insurance cards, photo ID, Medicare or Medical Assistance information, phone numbers and addresses.
  • Driver: You must plan to have someone drive you home if you are receiving anesthesia. ** This directive does not apply to local only cases.
  • Escort: It is encouraged that a friend, relative or dedicated caregiver stays with you for the first 24 hours after your surgery.

We recognize that you may have questions or concerns about our insurance and billing procedures. One of our team members will verify with your insurance company available benefits prior to your procedure. It is our goal to inform you fully of any payment responsibilities you will have before your admission.
