Atlanta surgeon Suraj J. Menachery M.D.
Background
Dr. Menachery joined North Atlanta Surgical Associates, PC with a Fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Menachery received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Duke University. He also gained a concentration in Molecular and Cell Biology. He fulfilled his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina, with induction into Alpha Omega Alpha, the highest medical honor society.
Surgical residency training was completed at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, TN. He was awarded the Outstanding Resident in Laparoscopy Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) at his institution.
Thereafter, Dr. Menachery transitioned to New York City to complete his Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship with New York Medical College.
He is Board Certified and a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS).
He is a founding member of the Bariatrics Committee for Piedmont Hospital. Since he has reached Piedmont Hospital, Dr. Menachery contributes to other committees in regards to blood utilization, nutrition, and building a Bariatric Center of Excellence.
He is energetic, compassionate and committed to his patients. His interests include travel, grilling, college basketball, racquet sports. He is married to his very supportive wife and physician. He is the proud father of two active boys, and his loyal golden retriever.
