Atlanta surgeon Gary A. Ludi M.D.
Background
Dr. Gary Ludi is the President of North Atlanta Surgical Associates. He has been a physician at Georgia Surgical Associates since 1986. He is an avid outdoorsman, bird-watcher and environmentalist. He and his wife Maria have two daughters; Erica is a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill and Lauren is a freshman at University of Virginia.
Dr. Gary Ludi was born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1952. He received his Bachelor in Science from North Carolina State University in 1974, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He then attended the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he earned a Master of Science in the Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, and Genetics in 1978. He stayed in Colorado and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Colorado Health Science Center in 1981. He was AOA and received the Land Award and Edward G. Stober Award for academic excellence.
Dr. Ludi completed his surgical residency in the Grady and Emory University Affiliated Hospital Program in 1986. Since coming to St. Joseph's and Northside hospitals in 1986, he has served in several leadership positions and is currently Vice Chief of Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. He is a member of the Medical Associations of Atlanta and Georgia, the Atlanta Clinical Society, the Georgia Surgical Society, the American College of Surgeons and the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
