Atlanta surgeon J. S. Franklin Sr. M.D.

Background

Dr. Franklin joined North Atlanta Surgical Associates in January of 2011. He was previously in a high volume general surgery practice in Gadsden, Alabama for over 5 years.

He is board certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His surgical residency was completed at Atlanta Medical Center (formerly GA Baptist) in 2005. Dr. Franklin attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and completed undergraduate work at Augusta College. He was born and grew up in Thomaston, GA.

Dr. Franklin has vast experience in laparoscopy, and while in Alabama was the first surgeon in the state to complete a laparoscopic gallbladder removal with the DaVinci robot.
