Atlanta surgeon Thomas R. Fitzsimmons, M.D.
Background
Dr. Fitzsimmons is a Pennsylvania native who received his Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of Scranton. He obtained his medical degree from Georgetown University and did his internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He went on to Tripler Army Medical Center and finished his residency in General Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in July of 2005.
Dr. Fitzsimmons is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Southeastern Surgical Society, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, American Medical Society and Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons. He has a special interest in advanced laparoscopy to include anti-reflux surgery, colon, and hernia surgery. Dr. Fitzsimmons is very active on committees within the Northside Hospital system and is board eligible.
