Atlanta surgeon J. Clay Copher, M.D., M.B.A., FACS
Background
Dr. Copher is a native of Decatur, Georgia and graduated with honors from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1980. He obtained a Master’s Degree from Georgia State University in 1982. He attended medical school at Emory University and graduated in 1989. Dr. Copher completed his General Surgery residency in 1994 at Mercer University at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia. He completed a fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery at Georgia Baptist in Atlanta.
Dr. Copher is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Southeastern Surgical Society, Medical Association of Georgia and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. He is currently board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Copher is past Chief of Surgery at Northside Hospital Forsyth.
Dr. Copher is a member of the South Forsyth Rotary Club and serves on the Board of Directors for Patriot Bank of Georgia.
